Eddie Hearn Believes Stars Have Aligned Perfectly For Conor Benn To Beat Chris Eubank Jr
Chris Eubank Jr-Conor Benn fight week is well underway, and even though it took two-and-a-half years to get here once again, Eddie Hearn believes the stars have aligned perfectly for his man to walk away from Tottenham Hotspur Stadium with a massive victory.

The sons of British boxing legends Chris Eubank Sr and Nigel Benn will partake in the third instalment of their families' fight series when they meet at the top of Ring Magazine's first ever boxing event on Saturday night - live on DAZN PPV.

The build-up has been tumultuous, much of it to do with the two VADA drug tests Benn failed in the lead-up to their originally-scheduled fight in October 2022.

Benn (23-0, 14 KOs) has since been cleared from any wrongdoing and for better or worse, the fight is now bigger, having gone from 17,000 fans at the o2 Arena to a 65,000-seater football stadium.

In 2022, Eubank Jr (34-3, 25 KOs) was a massive favourite, and the fight was deemed farcical from a competitive standpoint. However, Benn has since fought at junior-middleweight twice and Eubank Jr lost by knockout in 2023, closing the gap between the two men in the process.

Hearn believes it's now the perfect timing for the man he's promoted from the very outset of his career to get the win of his life.

"I remember the day the fight was pulled," Hearn told The Ring. I remember the drama, the aftermath, everything. I said earlier that I actually think it's a big bonus for Conor Benn to be fighting Eubank Jr now, having been through everything that he's been through - bigger now, better.

"Eubank Jr has been knocked out in the process as well. I just think it's the right timing for Conor Benn to win this fight.

"I actually agree with Eubank Jr that it's not just about the weight. It is actually about skill and ability as well. But all of those things that Chris was saying, Conor is better at than Eubank. He's a better fighter, he's a better puncher, he's got better footwork.

"Eubank Jr's at the back end [of his career]. The money's in sight, everything's in sight. Don't get me wrong, he's a tough kid and he'll give it everything, but don't talk about desire in terms of the comparison between the two."

Rumours have swirled over the last few weeks that Benn has put in some frightening performances in sparring against much bigger men.

The 29-year-old has done rounds with 168-pound contender Bruno Surace, who knocked out Jaime Munguia in his last fight, and IBF super-middleweight champion William Scull, who faces Saul 'Canelo' Alvarez next week.

Benn's father Nigel has already hinted that his son outgunned Scull in their sparring on the island of Majorca.

Hearn has also confirmed those spars were very positive signs for Benn, who will fight at middleweight for the first time of his career against Eubank Jr.

He added: "Sparring is not the done thing to talk about, but he looks sensational, and not just against middleweights, we're talking super-middleweights, light-heavyweights. Sparring is sparring. You get in there [on fight night] in smaller gloves and anything can happen.

"We really love our chances. I said before, if you could have just clicked your fingers and got the very best Conor Benn to turn up on Saturday night, that's what we've got. Honestly, the camp of dreams.

"I said to him the other day, he'll be nervous. He's had some big fights, but when you walk out there...I'm not even fighting and I'm nervous. He's just got to control his emotions. I think that's really important."
