Clarke-TKV: Francesca Hennessy-Fabiana Bytyqi Tops BOXXER's First BBC Undercard
Seven fights and two years into her professional career, Francesca Hennessy faces a career-best test against former world champion Fabiana Bytyqi in the chief support slot preceding Frazer Clarke-Jeamie Tshikeva for British heavyweight honours on October 25.

BOXXER today announced four undercard bouts that will feature on their maiden show on free-to-air television as part of their groundbreaking deal partnering with the BBC, getting underway in Derby later this month.

Hennessey (6-0, 1 KO) has been tipped to become a multi-weight world champion by her promoter, Ben Shalom, but also settled for a lengthy spell on the sidelines as a consequence of the uncertainty around BOXXER's future.

Having cruised past Bournemouth veteran Gemma Ruegg over eight rounds on the Natasha Jonas-Lauren Price undercard at the iconic Royal Albert Hall in March, this represents a much different task.

Ending a seven-month layoff, the 20-year-old Kent resident will fancy her chances in a first ten-round contest against Czech Republic's Bytyqi (22-2-2, 5 KOs).

It's strategic matchmaking given the 29-year-old, a two-time atomweight world titleholder, won those honours a whopping five weight divisions (16-pounds) below the 118-pound bantamweight limit they'll square off at.

Bytyqi lost a wide 10-round points decision to one-time title challenger Seren Cetin in the 28-year-old's native Turkey last month, so while fresh, it'll be interesting to see how much resistance she can put up against Hennessey.

The bantamweight contest will be broadcast live on BBC Two and BBC iPlayer on British shores, with the 20-year-old delighted to feature in a primetime Saturday night slot.

In a press release, she said: "It's my opportunity to bring the energy and entertainment on a night when the whole nation will be watching. Women's boxing is thriving at the moment, but I'm determined to showcase something different - especially with it being the first time in 20 years that big-time boxing is shown on the BBC. It's a new age, I want people to look back and say this was the night the next generation arrived."

Elsewhere, Bobby Dalton (11-0, 2 KOs) will make the first defence of his English welterweight title in a voluntary challenge against in-form contender Joel Kodua (9-0, 2 KOs) - the victor will be ordered to face Sunderland's Travis Waters (11-0, 5 KOs) next.

Kodua, who trains under Tunde Ajayi alongside two-time world title challenger Anthony Yarde, won the Southern Area title in a frantic 10-round battle with then-unbeaten foe Daniel Francis on June 28.

The 28-year-old has featured on two BOXXER shows in the last year and will hope his third appearance earns a career-best achievement against another unbeaten foe.

Bradley Goldsmith certainly had his moments during an an action-packed shootout with Troy Coleman, who stopped him in seven to win the Midlands Area title as part of the Ben Whittaker-Liam Cameron 2 undercard on April 20.

After returning with a first-round knockout on a Dubai show in early July, the 27-year-old from Coventry has another crack on a big show when facing Portugal's Manchester-based prospect Mauro Silva.

Silva (9-0, 4 KOs) will make his debut over eight rounds against a stubborn customer (13-1, 9 KOs) eager to continue rebuilding after a difficult defeat earlier this year.

Elsewhere, former European cruiserweight champion Jack Massey ends a year-long layoff after his valiant six-round effort against Ring and IBF champion Jai Opetaia when facing Argentina's Ivan Gabriel Garcia (10-4-1, 10 KOs) over eight rounds.
