Olympic Star Cindy Ngamba Inks Multi-Fight Deal With Boxxer, Set For March 7th Debut On Jonas-Price Card
Paris 2024 Olympics star Cindy Ngamba will make her professional debut on the Natasha Jonas-Lauren Price card on March 7th after signing a deal with Boxxer and Sky Sports.

Ngamba moved to the UK from Cameroon at the age of 10 and began boxing when she was 15 years old. She started working out of the English Institute of Sport in Sheffield six years after her formative years in the sport, before bagging a spot at the Olympic Games in Paris last year.

Now 26, and six months removed from winning a Middleweight Bronze medal for the Refugee Olympic team, having previously been denied a British passport, Ngamba is turning to the paid ranks.

She said: “I’m excited to start this new journey as a professional with BOXXER and Sky Sports. My main goal before the Olympics was to challenge myself. I feel like on this pathway I will be able to continue to challenge myself and grow as a fighter.

"I have shared the ring with the best of the best in the Olympics and as an amateur. I want to share the ring with the best as a professional and push myself as far as I can go. It will be an amazing night on March 7th at the Royal Albert Hall.

"To share the ring with legends like Natasha Jonas and Lauren Price will be a special feeling. I’m looking forward to showcasing my skills as a professional for the first time. It is time for me to show what I am capable of and to continue to represent myself, Great Britain and all the refugees around the world.

"For every boxer you want to set yourself high goals and aims. I want to get myself in the ring with all the experienced fighters and fight for world titles."

Her new promoter Ben Shalom said: “I am proud and excited to welcome Cindy Ngamba to the team.

"She is an incredible athlete. She has had a phenomenal amateur career, and I am looking forward to working with her and helping her to achieve great things in the professional ranks. She is a fantastic addition to our stable and to our landmark all-women’s boxing event on March 7th at the Royal Albert Hall.”

At the Paris games, Ngamba won her first-round bout against Tamara Thibeault before defeating Davina Michel in the quarter-finals to guarantee herself a bronze medal.

In her semi-finals, Ngamba was beaten 4:1 by Atheyna Bylon.
