MONTREAL — Three Tiger's roar to wins.
Quick-fisted Christopher Guerrero showcased his skills stopping Dennis Dauto in four-rounds on Thursday at the Montreal Casino, Montreal.
The 23-year-old welterweight used lateral movement and boxed well in the early stages.
The end came out of nowhere in the fourth round when Guerrero (13-0, 8 knockouts) threw a combination to the head that was blocked but crunched a left hook to the body of Dauto (25-6-2, 9 KOs) , who turned, flinched and dropped to the canvas. Although he got to his feet he was clearly in trouble. Guerrero smelt blood and jumped on his opponent forcing referee Alberto Padulo Jr. to call a halt to proceedings at 1:08 of the round.
Super middleweight prospect Moreno Fendero took apart Edison Demaj in three-rounds.
The writing was on the wall from as early as a minute into the fight when Fendero (9-0, 7 KOs) dropped Demej (13-4-1, 7 KOs) with a sweeping left hook. The German was able to make it to his feet and see out the round.
Fendero, who won bronze at the 2023 World Championships, tenderized Denaj in the second round before dropping him with a combination and then scored a third and final knockdown with a clubbing power punch. Referee Alain Villenuve called off the fight at 1:36 of the third round.
Up-and-coming lightweight Avery Martin Duval overcame a second-round knockdown against Keshan Jacoby Koaly to score an eight-round unanimous decision.
Duval was awarded the decision 78-73 twice and 77-74
The first significant moment of the fight came with a minute left in the second round when Koaly touched Duval to the body and then threw what looked an innocuous shot that dropped the hometown fighter. It proved a flash knockdown and served as a wake up call for Duval who began boxing well behind his jab which noticeably reddened the French fighters left eye.
Duval (13-0-1, 7 KOs) looked to level things up when he hurt Koaly with a right hand in the fourth, but Koaly (6-2-1, 2 KOs) held firm.
Over the next couple of rounds Duval's jab dictated the pace and helped him to victory.
