Christian Mbilli and
Jamie Munguia are in talks for a super middleweight clash in the first quarter of 2026, sources tell The Ring.
Mbilli, The Ring’s No. 3 boxer at 168 pounds, is coming off a
thrilling draw with Lester Martinez in September on the Canelo Alvarez-Terence Crawford undercard. Mbilli (29-0-1, 24 KOs) is a 30-year-old come-forward bruiser who fights out of Montreal, Canada.
Munguia (45-2, 35 KOs) is a former titleholder at 154 pounds. The Mexican avenged his shocking KO loss to Bruno Surace in May in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia with a
comfortable decision victory.
Munguia later delivered an adverse finding, flagged by the Voluntary Anti-Doping Agency (VADA), for exogenous origin of testosterone. The British Boxing Board of Control ultimately
cleared the fighter of any wrongdoing. Munguia, 29, is trained by Eddy Reynoso, the renowned coach who guides Canelo Alvarez’s career.
