Chris Eubank vs. Conor Benn II Will Be 'Smarter Fight' — Not A War, Says Tony Sims
Conor Benn's rematch with Chris Eubank Jr. will be a "smarter fight" rather than another all-out war, the 28-year-old's trainer Tony Sims anticipates.

Eubank (35-3, 25 KOs) and Benn (23-1, 14 KOs) fought 12 gruelling rounds on April 26 in the main event of The Ring's first event, "FATAL FURY: City of the Wolves," at Tottenham Hotspur Stadium in London.

It was Eubank who came out on top, winning a competitive but clear unanimous decision. Plans to stage a rematch were put in place almost immediately and it looked like it would take place Sept. 20 in London.

Negotiations stalled and, as a result, the sequel has been put back to Nov. 15 at Spurs. Now a date and venue is firmly in place, it's all systems go for their winter rematch.

Eddie Hearn, Benn's promoter, expects the fight to be exactly like the first one, however, noting that Round 1 would basically be Round 13.

Sims, however, thinks the fight will be fought at a less frenetic pace.

"There's a few adjustments we've got to make," he told The Ring's Louis Hart. "He knows that. We've been working on that in our downtime. And I believe that he will make the adjustments and he will be victorious in this next fight.

"I think he had it in his head that he would knock Chris out. That's what he had in his head. He truly believed that. And I do believe that Conor will be a lot smarter this time, so he knows what Chris is about. And I'm sure Chris will have found out a lot of things about Conor.

"They obviously know each other over the 12-round war. They know neither one of them will go over easy. So I think the second fight will probably be a bit of a smarter fight.

"If you remember the war that their dads had in the first fight, and then the second fight, it was a lot smarter of a fight, which the majority of people thought Nigel actually won that fight, me being one of them. I was ringside of that fight in Old Trafford and I thought Nigel boxed really well that night.

"Everyone knows the bad blood between them all and it's going to be another great night. It's going to be in Tottenham Stadium again, so it's going to be a fantastic night of boxing."
