MANCHESTER, England —
Jack Catterall and
Harlem Eubank were all business as they comfortably made the welterweight limit ahead of Saturday night’s fight at Manchester’s AO Arena.
The 32 year-old from Chorley knows that he can’t afford a second consecutive defeat and scaled 146.5 pounds for the must-win fight.
Eubank (21-0, 9 KOs) has been patiently waiting for an opportunity to break into world class and targeted Catterall after outclassing and stopping tough Irish veteran,
Tyrone McKenna, in March.
The keyed up 31 year-old from Brighton also scaled 146.5 pounds.
The WBA International and IBF Intercontinental welterweight titles will be on the line.
As part of Matchroom’s attempt to shake up their product, each fighter was provided with their own set of scales and took to the stage at the same time at the ceremonial showpiece.
In the evening’s chief support, two-time IBF junior lightweight champion,
Joe Cordina (17-1, 9 KOs), will return from a 14-month layoff and face Mexico’s Jaret Gonzalez Quiroz (17-1, 13 KOs) for the WBO Global lightweight title.
Cordina scaled 134.7 pounds whilst Quiroz weighed in at 133.4 for the 10-round contest.
DAZN will stream Catterall-Eubank as the main event of a nine-fight card. Undercard coverage is set to start on DAZN at 7. p.m. GMT / 2p.m. ET)
