His Excellency Turki Alalshikh has hinted at putting together a super card in November.
Now, that card may have its main event.
Alalshikh announced on X that undefeated WBO welterweight champion
Brian Norman Jr. will defend his title against
undefeated former two-division champion Devin Haney on a Riyadh Season card. The date and venue will be announced at a later date.
Norman (28-0, 22 KOs) is coming off a
Knockout of the Year contender against Jin Sasaki on June 19 in Japan. The hard-hitting welterweight from Georgia dropped Sasaki twice in the first round before dropping him once more with a devastating left hook in the fifth round to earn the victory in enemy territory and the second defense of his title.
Haney (32-0, 15 KOs), a former undisputed lightweight champion and WBC junior welterweight champion, earned a unanimous decision victory over former unified junior welterweight champion Jose Ramirez on May 2 at Times Square in New York. Haney will be in his first fight at welterweight when he faces Norman.
Alalshikh also named Vergil Ortiz vs. Ennis, Christian Mbilli vs. Lester Martinez, Moses Itauma vs. Martin Bakole and Andy Cruz vs. William Zepeda as fights he was hoping to put together in November during a roundtable interview with The Ring’s Mike Coppinger, Rick Reeno and Ish Hinson.
