Aloys Jr will face Ellis Zorro in the new co-main event in Bournemouth on July 26 following the withdrawal of
Royston Barney-Smith from the card due to injury.
Undefeated Barney-Smith had been
scheduled to face Danny Quartermaine in the biggest test of his career to date but he will now no longer be featuring on the Pier Pressure event
headlined by Ryan Garner against Reece Bellotti.
But now an intriguing 10-round cruiserweight contest between unbeaten puncher Aloys Jr and former British title challenger
Zorro has been confirmed by Queensberry Promotions.
Jr, full name Aloys Youmbi, is considered one of the most exciting 200lb prospects in the country and has fought his way to the mandatory position for Viddal Riley’s British title.
The 22-year-old has been outspoken in his pursuit of Riley and confirmed that talks have taken place about a London derby between the two of them for the Lonsdale belt. But that fight will have to wait with Youmbi (10-1, 9 KOs) taking on Zorro instead.
The 32-year-old from Bromley, Kent got back to winning ways in April with a six-round points decision over Viktar Chvarkou in April.
Before that he had suffered back-to-back defeats with inside-distance losses to the current Ring Magazine champion Jai Opetaia in December 2023 then another one to Chev Clarke five months later.
Zorro is currently 18-2, 7 KOs and knows a win over Youmbi will likely set up a second British title tilt.
