Albert Ramirez Takes Out Michael Flannery In Two Rounds
Light heavyweight contender Albert Ramirez stopped Michael Flannery in two rounds at the Montreal Casino, Montreal, Canada.

Ramirez, rated at No. 6 by The Ring at light heavyweight, was far too good for the visitor from Thailand by way of the UK. The 33-year-old Venezuelan dropped Flannery in the opening round with a flurry of punches and was determined not to let the fight go too much longer landed a devastating right uppercut that put Flannery down.

Although Flannery (13-1, 11 knockouts) made it to his feet, the referee had seen enough and waved off the action at 1:39 of Round 2.

Ramirez (21-0, 18 KOs) is primed for a big fight with one of the other top fighters in the 175-pound division. Ramirez is ranked in the top 5 by all four sanctioning bodies. The WBA have him at No. 3, while the WBC and WBO at No. 4 and the IBF at No. 5.

Meanwhile, heavy-handed light heavyweight mauler Mehmet Unal made short work of Jan Czerklewicz, stopping the Polish fighter in the opening round.

Unal (13-0, 11 KOs), who represented Turkey at the 2016 Olympics, dropped Czerklewicz (14-3, 3 KOs) three times and forced the referee to jump in and stop the fight at 2:56 of the round. With the win Unal collected the WBC Continental Americas title.

World-rated junior welterweight Arthur Biyarslanov stayed bust with a third-round stoppage over late substitute Antonio Collado.

Biyarslanov (19-0, 16 KOs), who was fighting for the fifth time in the past year, dropped his Spanish opponent four times en route to his latest victory and like Ramirez, in the headline fight, is ready for a tougher test. While Collado, who showed heart, dips to 19-2, 3 KOs.

The ever-impressive Moreno Fendero took out Kristaps Bulmeistars in the 1st round of their super middleweight fight

Fendero (11-0, 9 KOs), a 26-year-old southpaw, was a standout amateur, most notably claiming bronze at the 2023 World Championships. His Latvian opponent goes to 13-4, 5 KOs.

Canada's 2024 Olympic bronze medalist Wyatt Sanford stopped Tomas Lastra in the first-round. Sanford moved to (2-0, 2 KOs) and is tabbed to appear on the undercard of Christian Mbill-Maciej Sulecki on June 27. While his Chilean opponent tasted defeat for the first time and drops to 2-1, 1 KO.

It's still early days but junior lightweight Erik Israyelyan looks to be one to watch. The Armenian-born fighter knocked out Alex Gagnon (0-3-1) with a big right hand. Israyelyan moved to 2-0, 2 KOs.
