Earlier today, Eye of The Tiger announced their maiden show for 2026.
The event will be headlined by WBA interim light heavyweight champion Albert Ramirez (22-0, 19 KOs), making the first defence of his title against an opponent TBC at the Montreal Casino, Montreal on February 5.
"After winning this belt far from home, in Libya, I feel privileged to be able to defend it in Montreal, where I feel at home and where boxing fans always welcome me as such," Ramirez said in a press release.
Ramirez, The Ring's No. 4-rated contender at 175-pounds, represented his native Venezuela at the 2016 Rio Olympics, losing at the Round of 16 stage.
His cousin, former IBF super middleweight champion Jose Uzcategui, opened the doors to him turning professional in Mexico, where he won his first nine fights.
The 33-year-old southpaw later moved in a different direction after impressing during a training camp in Russia alongside former undisputed champion Artur Beterbiev.
He stunned then-unbeaten Braian Suarez with a first-round knockout in June 2022, stopped former world title challenger Adam Deines in seven rounds last August and repeated the trick to dismiss Jerome Pampellone (TKO 7) for the WBA interim crown on August 8.
"We have no doubt that Albert Ramirez has everything it takes to collect several more belts," said EOTT president Camille Estephan. "From his very first world title defense, we intend to send a clear message to the light-heavyweight division — and with the opponent we’ll be announcing shortly, I can assure you that message will be heard."
The promoter also announced that a trio of contenders will see action, light heavyweight Mehmet Unal (14-0, 12 KOs), junior welterweight Arthur Biyarslanov (20-0, 16 KOs) and lightweight Dzmitry Asanau (11-0, 5 KOs) against opposition to be confirmed at a later date.
In addition, Canadian Olympic medalist Wyatt Sanford (5-0, 2 KOs), Thomas Chabot (11-1, 8 KOs) and Erik Israyelyan (4-0, 2 KOs) will also be featuring.
