AI Song Ratchets Up Tensions Between Wardley and Miller
A DJ may have unwittingly stoked the fires ahead of the upcoming WBA interim heavyweight title fight between Britain’s Fabio Wardley and Brooklyn’s Jarrell ‘Big Baby’ Miller.

Wardley, 18-0-1 (17 KOs), and Miller, 26-1-2 (22 KOs), will fight at Ipswich Town'’s Portman Road stadium on June 7th. A crowd of around 30,000 is expected.

Last Saturday, Filip Hrgovic kept his career alive by outpointing Joe Joyce at Manchester’s Co-Op Live Arena

During the course of the evening, a number of AI generated songs were played in the arena. There was a roots reggae track about Frank Warren and others about Daniel Dubois and the Queensberry Promotions’ stable

As clever as the technology is, the overly specific lyrics do make even the best efforts sound like spoof or parody songs and those who were listening laughed as they were dropped into the usual mix of 90’s dance tracks.

One man who didn’t find them funny in the slightest was Miller who was in town to start the promotion for his upcoming fight with Wardley.

Miller took offence at a line in one of the computer generated tracks and - assuming that Wardley had something to do with it - made his thoughts on the matter very clear when the pair decamped to Ipswich for Monday’s launch press conference.

Wardley and Miller are already two of the most willing talkers in the division but the hostile exchanges ratcheted tensions up even further and the two became involved in a couple of ugly exchanges.

The controversy and chaos that the announcement of the fight generated shouldn’t overshadow the fact that Wardley is taking a significant step up in competition against Miller.

As well as being a fiery, instinctive fighter, Wardley is a smart man and whilst he won’t want to let the occasion pass him by, he knows that he needs to guard against allowing the ill feeling and a partisan atmosphere to carry him away.

“It's six of one, half a dozen of the other. You need to know what you're doing in this game. You need to be switched on. It's not just a brute man’s sport, it’s a brainy man’s sport,” Wardley told TalkSport.

“You need to have your brain switched on, the right game plan and stick to it but there are going to be moments in this fight where the game plan is going to have to go out the window and I'm going to have to just do what some people say I do best and meet fire with fire and show him [Miller] that, ‘Look, you're not just going to push me around the ring. You’re not just going to get away with walking me down for free. It's going to cost you something. It’s going to cost you a few bumps and bruises.”
