Ken Norton is best known for his trilogy of fights with Muhammad Ali, winning the first and narrowly losing the subsequent two.

He was awarded the WBC Heavyweight title in 1978 after Leon Spinks chose to rematch Ali instead of facing Norton, the number one contender.

Norton was known for his unorthodox fighting style and exceptional athleticism, which he developed during his time as a standout athlete in multiple sports during high school.

After retiring from boxing, Norton pursued a career in acting and worked as a commentator.

He passed away on September 18, 2013, leaving behind a legacy as one of the era's most formidable heavyweights.

Vs. Muhammad Ali I (March 31, 1973): Won by split decision, breaking Ali's jaw during the fight.

Vs. Muhammad Ali II (September 10, 1973): Lost by split decision in a closely contested rematch.

Vs. Larry Holmes (June 9, 1978): Lost by split decision in a fight for the WBC Heavyweight title, considered one of the greatest heavyweight bouts.
